Poseidon Garden (Poseidon Reef) at the southern end of Shaab el Erg: the coral garden on the south side of the two southernmost patch reefs (the two ergs the dive centres mention are not located individually), sand at 12-15 m and the moorings. It is a reef and coral-garden site, not a wreck. The garden and depths are from dive-centre descriptions (divers-guide.com); the loop is a typical one, not a recorded track, and positions are approximate.

Poseidon Garden is the southern end of the Shaab el Erg horseshoe reef, about 1.7 km from the reef's main marker: a shallow coral garden on sand, undemanding, the kind of place a day boat out of Hurghada takes people who have just finished their course.

Which is exactly what it was. Dives 5 and 6, on 31 July 2005, to 12 m — one page of the log covering both, written in Dutch, with the operator's stamp from Blue Paradise Diving Center at Hurghada. The note at the bottom of the page ends "Kan niet wachten tot mijn volgende duik in Dahab" — can't wait for my next dive in Dahab.

That sentence is the reason this entry is worth reading. For twenty years the site sat in the workbook pinned to Dahab, 480 km away on the other side of Sinai, because the note mentioned Dahab. The note actually proves the opposite: the Dahab dives were still ahead of him. The position was corrected in September 2026 to Poseidon Reef, OSM node/271188407.
