The north side of Eiland 8 on the OpenStreetMap island outline (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL), with Klein Wilnis, the peat formations, at 16 m on the north side. The brown ridge is one of the peat walls and the shaded strips are shallows; the barge on the east side and the Snoekentuin on the west side are not drawn. Boat dive site; positions and depths are approximate.

One of the spoil islands thrown up when the Vinkeveense Plassen were dug for motorway sand. Islands 8 and 9 sit in the northern lake and are reached by boat — usually the Scuba-Academie boat out of the Baambrugse Zuwe.
Two dives, September 2014 and July 2020, to 12.4 m.
Position corrected September 2026. This was pinned to OSM node/2729957442 — a house on Zandeiland, a residential street in Meerhoven, Eindhoven, 94 km away. The same defect that had put Zandeiland 4 there. The real position, 52.24193 / 4.94654, is from duikersgids, which numbers the islands eiland-1 to eiland-12; its eiland-4 agrees with the corrected Zandeiland 4 position to within 80 m, which is what validates the rest of the set.
