Shore dive at the Dreischor pumping station: entry by the steps and rope on the dike, a shallow plateau, then along the dike to the south-east to the overgrown pipes and beams of the gemaal outlet from about 5 m, about ten minutes' swim from the entry. Shoreline from OpenStreetMap; the 10/15/20 m contours follow the neighbouring Frans Kokrif map and every position is approximate. Not placed for lack of a position: the remains of a rowing boat on the plateau, the small hill on the way south-east and the toilet near the outlet.

A gemaal is a pumping station, and this one discharges into the Grevelingenmeer at Dreischor on Schouwen-Duiveland. It is one of the most-used dive sites in Zeeland: parking on the dyke, a concrete slope into the water, and a bottom that shelves gently out to about 12 m.
Because the Grevelingen has had no tide since 1971, there is nothing to time and nothing to fight. The trade-off is oxygen: the deep water goes anoxic in late summer and the life there dies back each year.
What is here is the Dutch estuary set — sea bass, gobies, cuttlefish in season, lobsters in the rocks, and enormous numbers of shore crabs.
Eight dives between October 2006 and August 2024, to 12 m.
