🇳🇱 Den Osse Kerkweg
Den Osse, Grevelingenmeer, Zeeland, Netherlands
Logged as "Kerkepad", which is not the name of anywhere — it is Den Osse Kerkweg, one of the three main Grevelingen sites, and the log's own weekends prove it.

Den Osse Nieuwe Kerkweg (also called Kerkepad): the steiger with its steps, the basalt field and old dike to the west, the concrete slabs on the old strekdam straight out and the reefballs to the east, with the 4/7/15 m contours and the two usual loops; the slope continues to about 30 m past the fairway buoy. Steiger, buoy G 64 and shoreline from OpenStreetMap; positions are approximate.

The identification
There is no dive site in Zeeland called Kerkepad. There is one called Den Osse Kerkweg, and it is one of the three places everyone dives on the Grevelingen, along with Scharendijke and Dreischor Gemaal.
Five pieces of evidence put this dive there:
- The name is the same root — kerkepad and kerkweg, church path and church road — and both are the kind of thing written from memory at the end of a weekend.
- All three visits fall on Grevelingen weekends: 28 October 2006 with Dreischor; 12 May 2007 with Den Osse haven; 20 October 2007 with the Zeelandbrug and Dreischor, the day after Scharendijke and Koepeltje.
- On 12 May 2007 it is the second dive after Den Osse haven, which is 600 m away.
- 23 m in the log fits: logged depths at Den Osse Kerkweg reach 26 m.
- The old position, Sluis in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, is 44 km away across the Westerschelde — an hour and a toll tunnel each way, dropped into the middle of a Schouwen-Duiveland weekend.
The workbook records this as verified: inferred rather than web, because the reasoning is
circumstantial even though it is strong.
The dive
Den Osse Kerkweg is on the Grevelingen near Brouwershaven: reef edges, old concrete slabs, reefballs and the remains of a drowned dyke, in water with no tide and visibility that gets to twelve metres. It is known for its biodiversity — dead man's fingers and the sea dahlia anemone among them — and it works for beginners and for people who want to go down the edge.
Three dives, October 2006 to October 2007, to 23 m.
