The sheltered bay of Brayka Bay with the north and south house reef, the sandy lagoon with the speedboat moorings, the jetty on the south side and the ergs in the channel with their depths. Coastline, reef flats and jetty from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL); the ergs and depths are placed against the OSM reef edges. The route (out along the sheltered north reef, back over the ergs) is a typical house-reef dive, not a signed trail. All positions are approximate.

Brayka Bay is a resort bay on the coast north of Marsa Alam, with a sheltered sandy lagoon and a fringing reef on each arm. The northern reef drops off properly; the southern side is shallower and carries seagrass.
Five dives across 27–31 July 2007, from 4 m to 20.5 m, which is the signature of a house reef being used as one: check dives, night dives, and the two-tank mornings when the boat was not running.
