One of Bonaire's few vertical walls: shore entry down the stairs at the yellow stone behind Dive Friends at Hamlet Oasis, a narrow reef plateau and, about 40-60 m out, a vertical wall from about 9 m to 22 m, then the reef slope to 40 m (divers-guide.com, bonaire.com, dive-centre pages). The steepest, narrowest stretch is just south of the stairs; sources disagree whether to swim north or south of the steel pipe marker. The steel pipe is placed just north of the stairs from a dive-centre description; the 30 m and 40 m contours and the route are illustrative. Most of Bonaire is a slope. Cliff, just north of Kralendijk, is one of the few places where it is actually a wall — a vertical face from about 12 m dropping straight down, undercut in places, hung with sponges and black coral.
Dived twice, on 10 and 16 August 2012, to 27.7 m. It was the first dive of the trip and one of the last, which is usually a sign someone liked it.
