The north-west corner of Ko Similan (Similan 8): rocks breaking the surface at the corner, boulders from 8 m to 20 m around them, a line of boulders and coral along the west reef at 10 m, and the sand at 25 m, on the OpenStreetMap coastline, so positions are approximate. The reef patches further west named in the site description are not drawn because their place is unknown.

On the north-west of Ko Similan, Island 8 — the largest island in the group and the one with Sail Rock on it. The site is a mix: a rocky side carrying coral communities, patches of reef to the west, and a sand bottom at about 25 m, with the rocky area averaging 15–20 m.
