The reef is a plateau from 0.5 to 12 m and then a steep reef to about 40 m, the edge some 15-20 m off the shore (dckostrena.hr, ScubaBoard trip report 2009); the edge is drawn along the OSM shoreline. The wooden wreck is taken to be the 'Schooner Kostrena' listed by krnicadive.com (42 x 9.4 m, 555 GRT, sunk in bad weather, 29-42 m); its position is not published, so it is marked as an indicative point on the slope below the dive centre and no hull is drawn.

Kostrena is a shore-diving site on the Kvarner coast just east of Rijeka, sandwiched between the industrial port and shipyards on one side and the INA refinery on the other — which is not the setting you expect, and does nothing to the water quality, because the house reef here is a genuinely good drop-off from about 11 m to 40 m.

On that slope lies a wooden wreck, undated and as far as published sources go unidentified. Wooden hulls do not survive in shallow Mediterranean water — teredo worm takes them — so what is left is usually the buried lower hull, the frames, and whatever iron fastenings held it together.

One dive, 25 May 2015, to 36.5 m, which places it low on the drop-off.
