Dahab, South Sinai, Egypt

A line of small overhangs and short tunnels cut into the reef wall south of Dahab — caverns rather than caves, all of them daylit.

Down the southern coast road. The reef wall here is undercut and pierced by a series of small chambers and short swim-throughs at 10–20 m, none of them long enough to lose the light and none of them requiring a line — caverns in the strict sense rather than caves.

They are worth doing for the light: the openings face west into the afternoon sun and the interiors are full of glassfish, so the standard photograph is a silhouette against a blue hole in the rock.
