Very sparse map: only the OpenStreetMap outline of the Freizeitsee at Lathen, two basins joined around an island (© OpenStreetMap contributors). No dive map, entry or object was found for this lake, and the site is named only 'Freizeitsee' with no place, so both the entry and the identification with Lathen are unconfirmed.

A Freizeitsee — literally a leisure lake — at Lathen in the Emsland, another of the flooded extraction pits that the Ems valley is full of. One dive, 8 June 2014, to 13.6 m.
Lathen's other claim on the world is above ground: the Transrapid magnetic-levitation test track ran through the village from 1984 until the 2006 accident that killed 23 people and effectively ended the programme.
